To build and nurture a community that, in its faithfulness and commitment, is a demonstration of Christ's Kingdom -- an authentic foretaste of Heaven itself.

• We strive to build up each member, eager to discover and cultivate the gifts in one another that God placed for the purpose of His service.
• We promote good stewardship of each person's talents and resources, and exhort one another to live lives of holiness and integrity.
• We bless and send out our members into missions as well as into ministry within the secular marketplace.
• We create small groups and fellowships for discipleship, encouragement and accountability.
• We enjoy God and we enjoy one another, discovering His goodness in both the ordinary and special activities of our community.

And in all our efforts, we seek to build up the larger body of Hollywood Presbyterian Church.

• Through BRICK, God has raised up 60 current members of HPC, with more than 50 regular givers to the church and 20 officers of the church.
• Through BRICK, God has equipped more than a dozen full-time pastors and missionaries whose work spans the planet, from Southern California to South Africa to the Philippines.
• God has guided more than 40 current BRICK members into active service in HPC missions and ministry.
• God has called more than 40 members into roles in HPC worship services, and they have led the development of the Hollywood Mass Choir into an award-winning group of unmatched diversity.
• God has called BRICKsters into active participation and leadership in at least 30 areas of HPC congregational life, including the creation and operation of the Undergrounds.
• God has called more than 300 people over the years to make BRICK their home for a significant stretch of time, along with hundreds of shorter-term members during our existence.

Yet mere numbers do not give life to the BRICK story, nor do they give glory to God. Rather, the story comes alive in the fact that BRICK has been the most enduring community of young Christians in the Los Angeles area, through a shared emphasis on the things of Heaven rather than the treasures of earth. In a city usually associated with image and ambition, BRICK has minded Paul's words in 1 Cor 1:27:

God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.
