Technical Services Specialist

EMPLOYMENT STATUS:
Full-Time
ACCOUNTABILITY AND OVERVIEW:
- This is a full-time, “non-exempt” position. The person in this position will be an employee “at will” as described in the Employee Handbook. This person will have limited supervisory as well as program and project coordination responsibilities.
- This position reports to the Technical Services Director of HPC. The Technical Services Director is responsible for all IT, Website and Audio/Visual operations for the Church.
- The Technical Services Specialist will assist in numerous multi-media roles.
- The Technical Services Specialist will support staff through training and service on computer software and hardware.
- The Technical Services Specialist will maintain the church membership database.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Technical Services Specialist is responsible for the following on a day-to-day basis:
Audio/Visual
- To assist the Technical Director in covering all areas of Audio/Visual support for HPC events (including Sunday services, special events/ performances, Wednesday night Bible Studies etc…) Including, but not limited to:
- Assisting to recruit, train, schedule, encourage, and pray for volunteers that will provide supplemental coverage
- Assisting to maintain equipment inventory and perform regular maintenance
- Providing AV support for scheduled events when volunteers are not available
Computer Support
- First level troubleshooting of personal computer problems and/or solution. Liaising with Technical Director if additional support is required.
- Assist in providing Microsoft, Shelby & EMS computer training for staff and volunteers
- Maintain inventory of personal computers, software and other equipment as necessary
- Maintain membership database
- Maintain and update address or life change information
- Request and submit letters of transfer for members
- Coordinate with Adult Education the overall process of membership joining process
- Prepare and print membership reports as needed
- Prepare and communicate membership statistics
- Prepare and communicate Sunday Service attendance as needed
REQUIREMENTS:
- Comprehensive understanding and troubleshooting skills for PC Hardware & Software
- Experience with AV Support or ability to learn the basic principles of preparing and running sound equipment quickly
- Excellent computer skills, Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Speed and accuracy in data entry
- Good organizational skills
- Attentive to details
- Excellent personal communication skills
