One of the most historically significant churches in the western
United States, the First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood celebrated its Centennial
in 2003. As we continue to spread God’s word via our expanding
ministries and programs, we may be seeking qualified, full time people to
join our team. Our church is a vibrant part of Hollywood, complete with
a large preschool, historical facilities, Entertainment Ministries,
professional theatre productions, and most importantly a united effort
to bring Christ into the hearts of all.
Nursery Coordinator
We are currently seeking candidates for a full time Nursery
Coordinator position at First Presbyterian Church of Hollywood. The Nursery Coordinator provides for the care
and safety of the children entrusted to our nursery care and teaches them about
Jesus.
Primary Duties of the position include:
- Assigning
and supervising a sufficient number of workers and volunteers to insure
adequate care for the children entrusted to the nursery for each stated event;
- Maintaining
rolls and records for all children entrusted to the nursery;
- Maintaining
standards of cleanliness and safety in the nursery;
- Providing
appropriate programming and curriculum for all events, scheduling a variety of
activities;
- Maintaining
records on all paid staff and volunteers;
- Maintaining
accounts and budget of the nursery department;
- Diligently
monitoring the nursery first aid kit and supplies.
Qualifications requested:
- A
personal relationship with Jesus Christ;
- Experience
working with babies, toddlers, and older children;
- Bachelor’s
degree in Early Childhood Education or similar area of study;
- A
minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education units or equivalent experience;
- Dedication
to continuing education and growth in both the sacred and secular areas of
child development;
- Practical
work or volunteer experience at a church;
- Ability
to communicate effectively and build positive rapport with children, parents,
the nursery staff and coworkers;
- Ability
to lead, teach, and train a staff of 10 employees;
- A
current Red Cross CPR/First Aid Certification;
- Love
for children and a desire to nurture them.
The position is Sunday through Thursday with a Saturday
evening one time per month. Benefits provided.
