Missions

Missions Logo Hollywood Presbyterian Church supports local and global ministries, individual missionaries and provides opportunities for our congregation to learn about current mission programs and to participate in short-term mission trips. Join us in Mears Center Rooms 1 & 2 on the first Monday night of every month at 7:00 p.m. to hear mission speakers and pray for ministries around the world.

Monday March 12th, 7 PM in Mears 1 & 2
Special presentation by Frank Dimmock, Presbyterian missionary to Malawi for many years. He will update us about Embangweni Hospital, where FPCH has provided electricity, an ambulance, and a Guardian Shelter. The choir from that hospital spent a week with the congregation here in 1999.

Monday, April 2nd, 7 PM in Mears 1 & 2
We will hear from Forest Home representative, Shelly Halls Mutch, About recent developments in staff and program at the Christian Conference Center where FPCH people often attend camps and conferences. Inge Famularo, chaplain at Hollywood Presbyterian Hospital, will share about her ministry there in Portuguese, Spanish, German, and English.

Sunday, April 29th is Missions Sunday
Don Richardson, long a missionary in Papua New Guinea, and author of PEACE CHILD and other books, will preach at all services. Don Marsden, who runs the Narnia Center for children in Moscow, will meet with the children that morning, and Bill Deans, director of Mustard Seed, Inc., as well as Malcolm & Bertha Graham from Mustard Seed, along with others, will share with Sunday School classes. Special lunch will feature commissioning of 2007 Short Term Mission teams.

Monday, May 7th, 7 PM in Mears 1 & 2
Larry & Teri Beckler, members of FPCH, will speak about their work with Presbyterian Frontier Fellowship, and Larry’s recent trip to Turkey for a Kurdish consultation.

Monday, June 4th, 7 PM in Mears 1 & 2
Jamie & Amie Morrison, members of the BRICK class, and for several years part of the African Enterprise team in South Africa, will do a final presentation as they transition to Spokane, WA.
