Margaret Hartsock was the first FPCH member to become a
missionary, working as a nurse among Navajo Indians beginning in 1919. In 1926,
she went to Kenya under the African Inland Mission and served until 1946. The
church sent several bicycles to her besides supporting her. By the time of the
church Centennial in 2003, we had prayed for and partially supported several
score of mission workers in 35 countries as well as locally, for a total
of 5,000 years of service to the Lord. Long termers included the Howard
Moffatts in Korea, the Lardner Moores in Japan , the Bill Andersons in Sudan,
the Blackstones in China, the Fos Donaldsons in the Philippines, the Buyers
& Reasoners in Brazil, the Dick Freemans in Cameroun, the Mike Smiths in
Iran, the Bill Warlicks in Congo & Zimbabwe, Linda Buller in Colombia,
along with the Taylor Potters and William Yoder in Thailand.
Forest Home and Gospel Literature Int’l, founded by Miss
Mears, Mustard Seed, started by Lillian Dickson, Campus Crusade, led by Bill
Bright, and Russia for Christ, under the direction of David Benson were part of
our prayer and support.
