Meet and Greet the Baumgartners on July 31st from 9 – 11 am
Congregational Meeting on August 1st around 12:15 pm
We have been led by the Holy Spirit to the clear conviction that God has revealed the person He has chosen for our church. It is with praise, thanksgiving, and deep humility that we unanimously and joyfully nominate the Rev. Dan Baumgartner to be our next Senior Pastor.
Please join us on Saturday, July 31st from 9 – 11 am in the Mears Center to “Meet and Greet” Dan and his wonderful wife, Anne. The Baumgartners are very excited to join us this weekend, and would like to meet as many people as they can! Dan will preach at all three services on Sunday, August 1st. Members of FPCH are asked to meet in the Sanctuary following the 11 a.m. service (around 12:15 pm) for the Congregational Meeting to vote to confirm the call. Our hope and prayer is that as you come to know this amazing couple that you will love them as we do.
We are very excited about the future of FPCH under Dan’s leadership:
John Safoyan, Chair: Dan impressed me as a man of great integrity and wisdom. He is theologically sound, biblically grounded and passionate about the Lord Jesus Christ. He has a true pastor’s heart. I believe he is the right person for our church at this time in our history.
Nancy Norris, Co-Chair: Dan is a faithful and experienced pastor. He values and respects his flock and leads with confidence and a quiet assurance that can only come from the Lord. He laughs easily and enjoys the many gifts that life offers, whether shooting baskets, reading, running, or drinking a really good cup of coffee. Dan observes a Sabbath day of rest and enjoys that day with Anne by his side. Anne is a woman of God, a creative artist, a wonderful mom and a dear friend to many. I am thrilled and grateful for both of them to be part of the FPCH family. Soli Gloria Deo.
Sylvie Brenot: Dan is a man with a shepherd’s heart and values fostering intergenerational relationships. He has great interpersonal and conflict resolution skills. He deals individually and directly with people. I also valued the experience he gained during his years in business.
Tom Clark: Dan has a shepherd's heart for his congregation and a mentor's heart for his staff. He loves people and takes time to get to know them and act in an authentic, helpful way. Dan is an intelligent, thoughtful, Biblical preacher who loves the Lord. He waits upon the Holy Spirit in his ministry. Spiritual formation, prayer, brainstorming, and collegial participation are hallmarks of his ministry. He is a loving, supportive husband and family man.
Inge Famularo: Dan and Anne are grounded in the Word of God and are an example of agape love. They love Jesus and each other very much. They also care for people of all ages. They want to see members of the congregation involved as participants not as spectators.
Tom Hartshorn: Dan is a humble man of God who follows the Spirit. Both he and Anne are guided and led by the Spirit following Christ in their call to ministry. When I spoke with Eugene Peterson about Dan, he confirmed what we sensed and added that, “Dan and Anne have a wonderful process of discernment…Dan is an imaginative preacher who moves a congregation, loves to be in relationships throughout the community, and takes his time to get to know the environment and the people in the church.”
Christine Park Peterson: Dan is the complete package! He is a seasoned pastor with experiences in ministry and the corporate world. Though he is a capable administrator with a keen mind, it is his humility and tender heart that make him special. Dan points people to Christ, opens our eyes to the needy in our community, and inspires everyone to serve. Anne is an accomplished artist who uses her gifts to serve the Lord and support Dan in his ministry. Their authenticity and openness to the Holy Spirit’s leading are unmistakable.
Patty Valentine: We waited a long time for the Holy Spirit to show us this man. Dan is a people’s pastor. He sincerely likes people and that immediately drew me to him. And, I could see the love he has for Anne. I'm very excited for you to meet him. I know you are going to love him as I do.

It has been a tremendous honor to serve on the Pastor Nominating Committee! Thank you for supporting our efforts with your prayers and patience. Your words of affirmation and encouragement have been welcome and much-needed blessings along the way. The eight of us have shared much in this journey and are blessed to approach the end as friends who love and care for one another. Though incredibly diverse, we have been united all along in our desire to listen to God’s voice. What an amazing gift! We have peace and confidence that we have been brought together by the Spirit with Dan and Anne Baumgartner. Waiting on the Lord has been richly blessed. Let us continue to follow Christ as we begin a new journey at FPCH!
