Stewardship
Stewardship is often defined as everything we do after we say, “I believe.”

Function: noun
1: the office, duties, and obligations of a steward
2: the conducting, supervising, or managing of something; especially: the careful and responsible management of something entrusted to one's care <stewardship of our natural resources>

We are just passing through this world and are given and entrusted with Time, Talent, and Treasure to use for God’s glory and our good.
Stewardship Goals of Hollywood Presbyterian Church:
M I S S I O N:
To become a joyful congregation of givers of our time, talent & treasures; for God's glory and our witness to Hollywood.
V I S I O N – What we will accomplish:
HPC will become a church:
- where all of its members become joyful, sacrificial givers.
- where people put their talents and spiritual gifts to work.
- where people sacrifice a portion of their time to serve God, our community, and each other.
- where God's work is always obvious with abudnant opportunities to serve and get involved.
- where people have ownership in the ministries because THEY are the ministers.
- where people are taught to lead, and provide the resources to empower their roles as ministers.
- where people sacrifice their time, talent, and treasure to glorify God and to make things happen for God's kingdom in Hollywood.

- Operating Budget Stewardship Development
- Capital Resources Development
- Planned Giving Facilitation
- Stewardship and Lay Leadership Education
- Administrating an “Equipping Ministry”
Operating Budget Stewardship Development
- Ongoing Stewardship teaching and encouragement
- Communicating the positive results of stewardship
- Pledge drives [as long as they are necessary!]
Capital Resoures Development
Planned Giving Facilitation
- Lifelong Stewardship Education
and Counseling
- Estate Planning
- Charitable Remainder Trusts
Stewardship and Lay Leadership Education
- Teach people to integrate tithing and giving into their personal finances
- Seminars and classes focusing on financial stewardship at all phases of a person’s life
- Education in the discovery and application of spiritual gifts
- Development of a new culture of service and giving for ALL laity
- Train leaders to operate their ministries more effectively
Equipping Ministry Administration
- Identifying the time and talent needs of all ministries
- Matching the gifts of the laity with the needs of ministries
- Developing the understanding of Christianity as a VERB
