“God bless us, every one!” Need a little hope and heart for the coming months? In the spirit of a longtime Hollywood Pres holiday tradition, FPCH is reviving a community outreach production of Charles Dickens’ beloved classic A Christmas Carol in our sanctuary December 3-18. Be sure to save the dates, and plan to bring families and friends! You can begin inviting guests now to see our gorgeous church bedecked in Christmas garlands and greenery, and witness an old story filled with the Gospel’s power to reach even the most reluctant and unlikely. (Because of COVID, tickets will be required, for a suggested donation that makes attending in reach for everyone. Watch for further announcements in the E-Pres and at www.fpch.org for ticket availability and seating/mask protocols.) Our congregation is invited to participate in the beautiful production, volunteer in a variety of capacities, and of course to attend multiple times with children and guests. Individual and corporate sponsors are also welcome.
Perfect for children, and the child-at-heart in everyone, this 1-hour interactive Christmas Carol is adapted by Julietta Corti from the original, and directed by Jesse Corti. Immediately following each performance, the audience will exit to a Fezziwig Dance Party where you can learn a Victorian jig, and enjoy caroling and warm cider. Audiences will be invited to come in Victorian, Dickens-era costumes or hats, if they like. Performances will be the 3 weekends before Christmas, at 7 p.m. Fridays and two performances on Saturdays, at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Suggested donations for online tickets are $10 per person, $5 for children age 12 and under. Some groups may donate more, if able, or less if times are hard. Extended families and groups welcome! Free parking, with escorts available for evening shows.
Casting is underway, and auditions begin Friday, Sept. 17 and Friday, Sept. 24, from 6:30-9 p.m.; Stay tuned for more for details in the EPres newsletter, or sign up in the Rose Garden on Kickoff Sunday this weekend.
