FPCH takes God’s love for all nations and people seriously and personally. Our congregation’s many gifts and prayers can be a lifeline for the 26 international missionaries Hollywood Pres partners alongside to “know Christ and make him known.”

We hope you’ll be encouraged to pray for God to fulfill the needs and overcome the uncertainties faced by these colleagues and co-workers, especially as Covid continues to create many challenges. This month, our Global Missions Team invites you to intercede for:

Our very own prayer warrior Esther Lombardi, who will be leaving for Portsmouth, England, in a few weeks (mid-May). Please be sure to reach out to Esther if you hope to see her personally before this next venture. Though she works with a team who keep a low profile, she will be happy to share with you details about the sister church and programs she is a vital part of. Rejoice with her that many are hearing the Gospel through cultural celebrations, and some have become followers of Jesus. Pray that the Holy Spirit would give her words that speak into the hearts of growing friendships. Pray for travel mercies. Pray for many singles and families to embrace Bible studies as a tool for learning English and coming to know their Savior’s deep love.

Another of our congregation’s missionaries, Ja-Kyung Moon (part of FPCH while coming to Fuller Seminary from Korea) has returned to Sweden, to continue his work with Operation Mobilization. He sent our church condolences at the loss of Anna Kerr, remembering her encouragement in the late ‘90s as he was beginning his work. Please pray as he disciples young men on church planting teams among unreached people groups in Sweden, and for his ministry with ‘Livskraft’ Bible school students. (He spent part of Covid quarantine with OM Korea, and visiting his parents’ church, Livingstone Presbyterian Church in Seoul, among others.)

We also wanted to let our FPCH congregation know that African Enterprise and our own Jamie Morrison (Exec. Director) sent us news of the passing of the mighty evangelist, Dr. Stephen Lungu. He loved God’s Word, and taught it so profoundly that many thousands came to know the Lord. He became known as the Billy Graham of Africa. And now he is home with his beloved Jesus, who redeemed his early life growing up in urban gangs and poverty. How rich in love Dr. Lungu is now!

If as you read, you sense a nudging from the Holy Spirit to spend a little of your time celebrating and praying for Global Missions at FPCH, would you contact Jack Hardgrave jphardgrave@gmail.com and let him know of your interest? We’d love to grow our Team to be a multi-generational collaborative for sharing the stories of God’s great goodness in calling people to His Kingdom from every nation and tribe.

With our love, and asking God to multiply His grace,

Your FPCH Global Missions Team
