A Time of Prayer

When we gather as the church in prayer, we tap into the life sustaining power of our Lord Jesus Christ

A Prayer for God’s Goodness to Prevail

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. 21 So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.”  Gen 50:20,21

During this season we may feel as individuals and the church are being attacked by evil.  We need to pray to the Lord that what the enemy intended for evil God will use for GOOD! May we not fear but trust in Your provision and goodness.  Increase our faith, Lord.

A Prayer to Seek the Lord

If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 15 Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place.” 2 Chronicles 7:14-15

We pray as a community that we would continue to seek our Lord.  May we cry out and humble ourselves before God. Let us not seek our will to be done, but the will of our Lord Jesus Christ.  How are you calling us as your church in Hollywood? Let us be faithful to your mission, Lord.

A Prayer to Pursue Peace

Let us make every effort to do what leads to peace and to mutual upbuilding.” Romans 14:19

Pray for the peace of the FPCH community. Holy God, you do desire peace and unity within the body of believers.  We pray Lord that you would guide us to pursue the way of peace within the community and that we build one another up.  We also pray for peace and faithfulness in our search for our next senior pastor.

A Prayer to Follow Jesus

“Then he said to them all: Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow me.  For whoever wants to save their life will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me will save it.” Luke 9:23-24

Pray and contemplate these difficult words of Jesus.  Take time as individuals and as a group to read and pray over this calling from our Lord.  How do these words move us as individuals and community as we pick up our cross in our neighborhoods, workplaces, and Hollywood, loving God and our neighbor? May the Holy Spirit show us how to share the Gospel with love.
